S-FLO Series HI-FLO®
NON-FIBERGLASS HIGH PERFORMANCE
NON-SUPPORTED LAYERED MEDIA

Extended Service S- FLO Series Hi-Flo...Sets a New Standard

The S-FLO Series Hi-Flo is ideal for both constant volume VAV systems where high efficiency and long service life are required. Due to their high dust holding capacity, they are a cost-effective choice where high concentrations of particulate are present.

Exclusive New Media - The unique S-FLO Series media is a specially formulated microfiber graded mat, with a light spun bonded top sheet and a heavy-weight spun bound support scrim. This superior "layered" filter media offers a number of outstanding performance characteristics...high efficiency, low pressure drop, and long service life.

High Efficiency Filtration - The S-FLO Series Hi-Flo is available in three efficiencies, 65%, 85%, and 95% based on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-92. The S-Flo Series Hi-Flo has been rated by Underwriters' Laboratories as Class 2.

Energy Conservation - The S-FLO Series Hi-Flo also meets the needs of industrial and commercial applications where lower filtration system average pressure drop would contribute to significant energy savings.

Wide Range of Sizes - Sixty standard sizes with three depths 15", 22" and 30", and up to 12 pockets, will meet the needs of virtually every design requirement. Other sizes and configurations can be easily constructed to meet special situations.

Prefilter Options - FARR manufactures a variety of filters suitable as prefilters. Some minimize penetration of respirable particulates while dramatically lowering average pressure drop and extending service intervals. Give dp filters a call for additional information or recommendations.

Holding Frames and Housings - The FARR Type 8 holding frame is an ideal selection for built-up banks. They are available in a size to fit all Hi-Flo filters, as well as the capacity to hold additional stages of prefilters or odor control modules. FARR also offers a number Glide/Pack side access housings in single or multistage capacities. Both systems assure virtually leak-free performance, and future upgradability..

Many construction and performance features:

  • Unique media construction provides low pressure drop and high dust-holding capacity.

  • Sealing surface and pocket retainers are configured to provide 84% open area for minimal entrance loss (24" x 24" filter)

  • Adhesive bonding around pocket retainer periphery ensures a strong pocket-to-retainer seal, minimizing the potential for blow-out.

  • Pocket retainers of galvanized steel with rolled edges improve retainer strength and prevent media cuts.

  • Sure-Clench® crimp positively locks pocket retainers together and prevents air leaks.

  • Rolled safety edges and Sure-Clench crimp minimize possible lacerations to installers.

  • Up to 96 net square feet of media in a 10-pocket 30" filter for high dust-holding capacity...long service life.

SPECIFICATIONS

AIR FILTERS shall be FARR S-FLO Series Hi-Flo high performance extended area disposable type filters. Each filter shall consist of a synthetic, electrostatically changed media formed into individual pockets with a corrosion resistant galvanized steel enclosing frame. The filter unit shall be completely factory assembled and shall be classified by Underwriters' Laboratories as Class 2.

FARR S-FLO SERIES HI-FLO 95 - Filter media shall consist of a completely synthetic, electrostatically charged microfiber graded mat, with a light spun bonded top sheet and a heavy-weight spun bonded support scrim. The filter shall have an average efficiency of 90-95% on ASHRAE 52.1-92. It shall have an average arrestance of not less than 99.5% on that standard. Filters shall be listed by Underwriters' laboratories as Class 2.

FARR S-FLO SERIES HI-FLO 85 - Filter media shall consist of a completely synthetic, electrostatically charged microfiber graded mat, with a light spun bonded top sheet and a heavy-weight spun bonded support scrim. The filter shall have an average efficiency of 80-85% on ASHRAE 52.1-92. It shall have an average arrestance of not less than 99% on that standard. Filters shall be listed by Underwriters' laboratories as Class 2.

FARR S-FLO SERIES HI-FLO 65 - Filter media shall consist of a completely synthetic, electrostatically charged microfiber graded mat, with a light spun bonded top sheet and a heavy-weight spun bonded support scrim. The filter shall have an average efficiency of 60-65% on ASHRAE 52.1-92. It shall have an average arrestance of not less than 97.5% on that standard. Filters shall be listed by Underwriters' laboratories as Class 2.

POCKET CONSTRUCTION - Pockets shall be constructed of a synthetic electrostatically charged media. The pockets shall be equipped with a minimum of 40 support points per square foot of the filter media.
All stitching points shall be completely sealed with FoamSeal® adhesive. The pockets shall be chemically adhered around the periphery of the galvanized steel retainers. Retainers shall have rolled edges to reduce possible cuts to media, or lacerations to installers.

ENCLOSING FRAME - Enclosing frame shall be constructed of a "J" return channel of galvanized steel. The channel shall be 7/8", or optional 1-18".
