The High Performance of a Rigid Filter
in a Totally Disposable, Low Pressure Drop Design.

THE E-SERIES RIGA-FLO brings the latest technological advance in air filtration media to a unique, rigid style filter design. It delivers the key advantages of the popular Farr RIGA-FLO - durability, high efficiency, reliable and predictable performance at variable air flows, energy efficiency and long service life. Yet this dramatically new design also incorporates features and components selected for their environmental compatibility.

NO WIRE, NO STEEL - Because the primary components of the E-Series RIGA-FLO are non-metallic, they are easily compacted for landfill disposal. They are also fully incinerable with minimal ash residue. Components are designed to operate in humid conditions in the air stream without rusting, corroding or degrading. Unlike frames of light-gauge metal, the highly resilient enclosing frame has no sharp edges and is resistant to damage during handling. The E-Series RIGA-FLO also weighs 33% less than conventional metal filters - providing ease of handling and real savings on freight costs, too!

ALL NEW "DURA-PLY" FRAME enclosing the filter is made of a durable, specialty laminate with excellent moisture resistance and high burst strength. During manufacturing, the Dura-Ply frame is bonded between unique plies of film for enhances insulation and moisture resistance.

EXCLUSIVE "FARR-FLO" MEDIA combines a high loft glass fiber media with a stiffened backing that delivers the structural integrity owners and engineers expect from rigid filters, without the use of welded wire support grids. The new media maximizes dust holding capacity while reducing pressure drop.

PERFORMANCE of the E-Series RIGA-FLO is superior to that of conventional rigid fiberglass filters. With its excellent dust holding capacity and reduced initial resistance over conventional filters, the E-Series RIGA-FLO allows designed air flows to be maintained over longer periods of time - providing operational savings and increased comfort to occupants.

ECONOMY - With its energy efficiency and ease of handling and disposal, the E-Series RIGA-FLO lets you reduce operational costs every moment in its operation - while still being friendly to the environment.

SPECIFICATIONS

Air filters shall be Farr E-Series RIGA-FLO (65) (85) (95) high performance, deep-pleated, totally rigid and disposable type, constructed completely without steel components. Manufacturer shall provide MSDS sheets upon request demonstrating that the only by-products of the grille's combustion are carbon dioxide and water. Filter components shall emit no phenols during incineration.

Each filter shall consist of FARR FLO high efficiency media, Dura-Ply enclosing frame, contour stabilizers on both air entering and air exiting sides and support grilles. Filters shall be classified by Underwriter's Laboratories as Class 2 and shall be capable of withstanding 10" w.g. pressure drop with minimal change to media pack sealing integrity.

E-Series RIGA-FLO 65 - Filter media shall be FARR-FLO high loft glass fiber type with integral backing that will maintain structural stability of the pack without the use of expanded metal, metal wires or grids. Filter shall have an average efficiency of 60-65% on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-92 an average arrestance of not less than 97.5% on that standard, and a minimum efficiency of 12.0% on 0.3 micron atmospheric dust. Initial resistance at 500 fpm approach velocity shall not exceed .31" w.g.

E-Series RIGA-FLO 85 - Filter media shall be FARR-FLO high loft glass fiber type with integral backing that will maintain structural stability of the pack without the use of expanded metal, metal wires or grids. Filter shall have an average efficiency of 80-85% on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-92 an average arrestance of not less than 99.0% on that standard, and a minimum efficiency of 48.0% on 0.3 micron atmospheric dust. Initial resistance at 500 fpm approach velocity shall not exceed .50" w.g.

E-Series RIGA-FLO 95 - Filter media shall be FARR-FLO high loft glass fiber type with integral backing that will maintain structural stability of the pack without the use of expanded metal, metal wires or grids. Filter shall have an average efficiency of 90-95% on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-92 an average arrestance of not less than 99.5% on that standard, and a minimum efficiency of 60.0% on 0.3 micron atmospheric dust. Initial resistance at 500 fpm approach velocity shall not exceed .57" w.g.

ENCLOSING FRAME - Enclosing frame shall be Farr Dura-Ply, constructed by bonding a moisture and corrosion resistant laminate between layers of film with the use of a waterproof adhesive. The media pack shall be both mechanically and chemically bonded to the Dura-Ply frame on all sides to eliminate the possibility of air bypass. The Dura-Ply frame shall be equipped with a high impact, non-metallic grille installed on both air entering and air exiting sides and mechanically fastened to the frame and to each contour stabilizer.

CONTOUR STABILIZERS - Contour stabilizers shall be of PMDI (polymeric methylene diisocyanate) impregnated board for enhanced waterproofing and shall be permanently installed on both the air entering and air exiting sides of the filter media pack to help maintain pleat stability. There shall be four contour stabilizers each on the air entering and air exiting sides.

TYPE 8 HOLDING FRAMES (Built-up Filter banks) - Holding frames shall be factory fabricated of 16-gauge galvanized steel and shall be equipped with gaskets and four heavy duty Farr C-80 positive sealing fasteners. Each fastener shall be capable of withstanding 25 lb. pressure without deflection. They shall be capable of being attached or removed without the use of tools.

GLIDE/PACKS (Side Access Applications) - Filter housings shall be Farr Model 3P universal Glide/Pack or ECO Glide/Pack. They shall be factory fabricated and assembled. The units shall be constructed of not less than 16-gauge galvanized steel. They shall incorporate two (2) access doors, extruded aluminum tracks and individual Universal Holding Frames designed to accommodate a wide range of standard size filters is varying efficiency ranges.

PREFILTERS - Prefilters shall be 2" or 4" Farr 30/30s, medium efficiency, pleated disposable type. Each filter shall consist of a non-woven cotton fabric media, media support grid and enclosing frame. Prefilters shall be capable of being installed or removed, using the Farr C-102 E-Series fastener, without disturbing the seal on the E-Series RIGA-FLO filter.
