Farr 30/30 pleated filters have established a new air filtration standard in a wide variety of commercial, industrial and residential applications. High efficiency ratings, extended service life and ease of handling have made them the accepted choice where both performance and economy are required.

EXCLUSIVE FILTER MEDIA - Farr 30/30 Class 2 filter media is a lofted, high performance, nonwoven, reinforced cotton and synthetic fabric. It is specially manufactured by Farr Company to rigid performance specifications. The media has a minimum thickness of 0.15" and has a unit weight of 2.5 ounces per square yard. The media is fully supported and bonded to a welded wire grid with 96% open area.

RADIAL PLEAT DESIGN - Unique "Radial Pleat" design assures total usage of the filter media, maximum dust holding capacity and extended service life.

PERFORMANCE - Farr 30/30 filters, U.L. Class 2, are rated on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-92 at 30% efficiency, arrestance is 90-92%. The 30/30 may be operated at varying velocities up to 600 fpm for the 4" 30/30 and up to 500 fpm for the 2" and 1" 30/30 filters.

EASY TO UPGRADE - New or existing systems can be upgraded by incorporating the Farr 30/30. Its greater dust-holding capacity not only extends replacement intervals, but, considerably lengthens the service life of any other secondary filters in the system.

4" and 2" filters are rated at 250 fpm (medium) and 500 fpm (high). 1" filters are rated at 175 fpm (medium) and 350 fpm (high).

SPECIFICATIONS

AIR FILTERS - Air filters shall be Farr 30/30. Each filter shall consist of a cotton and synthetic media, support grid and enclosing frame. The filter shall be listed by Underwriter's Laboratories as Class (2)(1)


FILTER MEDIA - Filter media shall have an average efficiency of 25-30% and an average arrestance of 90-92% in accordance with ASHRAE Test Standard 52.1-1992.


4 INCH - Filter face area shall contain not less than 11 pleats per linear foot. Initial resistance at 500 fpm shall not exceed .27" w.g.


2 INCH - Filter face are shall contain not less than 15 pleats per linear foot. Initial resistance at 500 fpm shall not exceed .28" w.g.


1- INCH Filter face area shall contain not less than 16 pleats per linear foot. Initial resistance at 500 fpm shall not exceed .25" w.g.

Farr Company has a policy of uninterrupted research, development and product improvement and reserves the right to change design and specifications without notice.

MEDIA SUPPORT GRID - Grid shall be welded wire on 1" centers with an open area of not less than 96%. Grid shall be bonded to the media to eliminate oscillation and pull away. the grid shall be formed to effect a radial pleat, allowing total use of media.

ENCLOSING FRAME - The frame shall be a rigid, high wet-strength beverage board, with diagonal support members bonded to the air entering and air exiting side of each pleat. The enclosing frame shall be chemically bonded to the filter pack.

HOLDING FRAME - Holding frames shall be Farr Type 8, factory fabricated of 16-gauge galvanized steel and equipped with polyurethane gaskets. (Four spring type fasteners required. Order separately.) Fasteners shall be attached or removed without the use of tools.

SPARE FILTERS - Two complete sets of spare filters shall be supplied for use during construction and testing and balancing, total number of sets - three.

 

*The Farr 30/30 is categorized as a 25-30% efficiency filter. Average efficiencies may vary 5 points. These variances are not uncommon when tested in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 52.1-92.
